Let's Cook is More Than a Cooking School

Let’s Cook began as a culinary school dedicated to teaching essential kitchen skills to students of all ages. In July of 2013, chef and 14-year culinary connoisseur Kyna Clendenin took over the business, bringing with her a vision of expansion. Beyond simple kitchen basics: Kyna’s desire to enlighten the Tyler community regarding nutrition and healthy eating, carries through all of the classes, parties, events, and healthy meals prepared each day at Let’s Cook. Kyna strongly believes that keeping the body strong by consuming foods that contain proper nutrition, combined with a regular exercise regimen, can treat and alleviate many ailments of the body and mind.

Kyna, originally a Whitehouse resident, now resides with her three girls in Tyler, Texas. Her positive attitude and desire to elevate the quality of life of each person who walks into her store is evident in everything she does.

Christian Chavanne

Chef Christian Chavanne is a native of the French Riviera. He began his training at the tender age of 14 and spent 9 years including an apprenticeship that spanned several countries before establishing himself on the US West Coast.

While living in Southern California, Christian became interested in the exciting culinary experiments taking place in Northern California's wine country, so he moved to the Napa Valley to work for the famed Auberge du Soleil Restaurant.

Christian is a culinary consultant, instructor and a television host. He previously spent two days cooking with Julia Child: an experience he hopes to share with students in a reoccurring event called “An Evening With Julia;” and he was recently a participant in Guy’s Grocery Games on Food Network.

Christian has a passion and appreciation for foods of all cultures with a special emphasis on the cuisines of his native Provence and the Mediterranean.
